About Me

My name is Emma Iley.

Like everyone else,
I have experienced life's ups and downs.

Prior to re-training as a counsellor,
I spent 23 years working as a
primary school teacher.

I have been married and divorced.

Ten years ago, I began being diagnosed with various chronic autoimmune conditions.
After frequently flaring, I have now learnt how to pace myself better.

I have experience of parenting children with SEND.

I have had periods of both anxiety and depression,
including post-natal depression.

I was a volunteer counsellor for a cancer support centre for 3 years.

I currently work with children
and young people
who have been affected by crime
and I am the autism team lead.

Having experienced the benefits of counsellors' support myself,
I now enjoy being able to empower others,
as they begin to move forward positively again.

I have my enhanced DBS
and my safeguarding training is current.
